About Us

CottonTown Brew Lab is a microbrewery and beer garden in Columbia, SC. Our brewery is located in the historic CottonTown neighborhood at 1223 Franklin St. We believe that local craft beer should emphasize "local", embracing the history and culture of our surroundings. To this end you will find our IPA's brewed for the South Carolina heat. They are crushable, light bodied beers that pack all the ABV of their heavy weight cousins, but easy to consume when the heat index is pushing 100 degrees. Our seasonal line doesn't follow the same rules. There you will find full bodied Stouts, Porters and the aggressive experimentation you expect from an independent brewery.

Our Beer

  • Carolina Crush Session IPACarolina Crush is a 4.5% ABV, session IPA. It's been brewed to enjoy when the temperature is in the 90's, but you still want to enjoy a high quality craft beer. Expect light body, mild bitterness and luscious, aromatic hops that will make you swear there's fruit or zest involved. Rest assured, there is no fruit; only the sweet side of Comet and Ekuanot hops....More
  • Gingerbread Man...More
  • Bull St. WheatBull St Wheat is an American Wheat beer meaning it is not fermented with traditional Belgian yeast. This replaces the phenolic/clove flavor and replaces it with a milder, less aggressive flavor. Bull St Wheat is named for the major thoroughfare connecting downtown Columbia to I-20 where a great deal of revitalization and development are occurring. One block on either side you'll find CottonTown Brew Lab and Spirit Communications Park (Home to the Fireflies and Bone-In BBQ)...More

  • PtoP – TropiCarolina (Pilot To Production)PtoP TropiCarolina (Pilot to Production): As a hop-heavy beer this one turned-out a bit less aromatic and more bitter than the pilot-batch. It also experienced an ABV boost as the efficiency of the production system is higher. ...More
  • TrainsPorterThis is a very well executed, traditional porter with a dark-roasted body and smooth finish. ...More
  • Imperial Stout...More
  • Gingerbread Man Winter WarmerThis Winter Warmer brings to mind warm gingerbread cookies on a cold, crisp night. Lightly spiced with a rich, full-body that satisfies the pallet like a rich dessert....More
  • Cottontown HefeweizenClassic wheat beer with just the right amount of banana and clove....More
  • Blue Zip Tie IPAThis beer is a delightful balance of bitterness, maltiness and aromatics. It is brewed for easy drinking in the South Carolina heat, but is just as good at tailgates and by the fire pit. It's name was derived from the blue zip tie used to distinguish it from other test batches during blind taste testing. Everyone raved about "blue"!...More
  • Indah Coffee StoutThis local collaboration between CottonTown Brew Lab and Indah Coffee combines a medium bodied milk stout with expertly dark-roasted coffee from our CottonTown neighbor, Indah Coffee. The result is a rich, refreshing beer suitable from early morning tailgating until the fire-pit goes out late at night. ...More
